The purpose of this course is to introduce students to the legal system generally as well as to some core legal rules governing and regulating the operation of business in the People’s Republic of China (PRC).

Through lectures and guest lectures surrounding a variety of topics, students will get to know the legal culture in China and familiarise themselves with the operation of China’s legal system.

Cases in practice and film clips will be provided for the purpose of facilitating understanding in this regard. Interaction is encouraged between students and (guest) lecturers and between students themselves through flexible forms in order to enhance understanding.

On completion of this module, students are expected to have a general clue in mind about how to deal with legal issues while doing business in China.
